About Us
Welcome to our web page; this is where we as a PTA aim to keep you up to date with who we are, what we do, what we are working on, future event details and all our progress.
Lakeside PTA is a registered charity (Charities Commission Charity No. 1129478) and is looked after by a group of volunteers committed to fundraising for the school, for all its children and staff.
We as a PTA are also PROUD: Proud to be part of Lakeside, Proud to be part of our children’s journey and Proud to GROW.
Proud to Generate funds
Each year we as a PTA endeavour to raise sufficient funds to provide equipment for the school otherwise unobtainable and to provide a legacy for present and future pupils of the school.
Over the past few years we have raised and spent many thousands of pounds on new equipment and fun things for the children.
Proud to Raise awareness
At the beginning of the new school year we hold our Annual General Meeting (AGM), everyone is welcome and actively encouraged to come along and find out more about the PTA. It is during this AGM that the new school years’ PTA committee is formed. PTA meetings are then held roughly monthly to discuss the events and spends for the year. These meetings are open to everyone, though any voting on these discussions can only be performed by the current years’ Committee.
During the year we also publish Newsletters which give a more illustrative view on what we have achieved over the last few months.
Proud to Organise events
Each year the PTA organise or help at many events, it is worth noting that not all of these events are designed for raising funds, some are more directly for the benefit of the children, parents or school.
Proud to Work together
No PTA can succeed without the time and dedication of its volunteers. As a minimum all PTAs need at least a Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. As Lakeside is a large and growing school, in order to continue running all our events we need lots of willing volunteers. Here is just a small example of ways you can help:

Help serve refreshments at events

Run a stall at a Fair or help with the Discos

Donate items for Fairs or clothes for selling/recycling

Help create posters or help with advertising

Asking your employer if they “Fund Match”

Provide new ideas and suggestions
Throughout the year new helpers are always welcome and become known as a 'Friend of the PTA', but if you would like more of a say in what happens, please join us at an AGM and become part of the Committee.
