Wrap Around Care

The Breakfast Club
This provision operates before the start of the school day, from 7:45am until 8:45am each day school is open to pupils. Children are offered breakfast (for example cereal, toast and fruit).
A general timetable for this club will see the children arriving before 8am supported to engage in quiet activities such as reading, colouring, construction, games & puzzles, tinker & explore sensory etc. A staggered breakfast is served between 8am and 8:20am; whilst not eating, children continue with quiet activities. All children are asked to support the tidy routine at around 8:25am before the adults lead a series of circle games, such as wink murder, duck-duck-goose, pass the clap etc.
The children are supported in getting ready for the school day before being released to class at the sounding of the morning bell. Younger and vulnerable pupils’ transition to class will be appropriately supported.
The After School Club
This provision runs from the end of the school day until 6pm. Children can be collected at any time between 3:15pm and 6pm, with one payment window between 3:15pm and 4:30pm and another payment window between 3:15pm and 6pm. The timetable below provides further detail on the club’s structure:

Booking a Place at Extend Wrap Around Care
Booking is arranged through the School Money app. On launching Extend, each Lakeside family was emailed a login invitation for accessing this app; this invitation is also shared with all new starters as part of their induction to Lakeside - whether joining in Reception or as an in-year admission.

Pricing
We run a pre-booked and an ad-hoc price model, with the ad-hoc pricing taking effect for bookings which fall within 48-hours of the session itself.

Where possible, we strongly encourage families to use pre‑booked sessions, which help us run the provision safely, efficiently and sustainably while keeping costs lower for families.
Ad-hoc bookings are not available on the School Money app; families requiring an ad-hoc booking should email extend@lakeside.gloucs.sch.uk and payment will be managed by a separate invoice.
