Lakeside Primary School

Admissions

Reception

As of September 2025, the school admits children in accordance with the policy laid down by Gloucestershire Local Authority. The school can admit 60 children into the Reception year. If more than 60 applications are received, the Local Authority then decides which children should be offered places. Children are offered three full terms of education in their Reception year and most are admitted in the September following their fourth birthday. Legally, however, children do not have to be in school until the beginning of the term following their fifth birthday, so parents may defer the start of school until January or April if they wish.

As we are a maintained school, our admissions are managed by Gloucestershire Local Authority.  Find out all the information you need using the links below.
