As Governors we are jointly responsible for the strategic management of the school filling the role of a ‘critical friend’ and supporting the work of the Head Teacher and staff, occasionally challenging the ways things happen in order to ensure that best practice is maintained.
The Governors are not inspectors who are professionally qualified to assess the performance of a school.
Members of the Governing Body take an active role in the life of the school, are present at school functions and are responsible for areas of the curriculum. They oversee the allocation of the delegated budget and are involved in the selection of staff and are responsible for the general functioning and discipline of the school. Our Governors come from a wide range of backgrounds with valuable skills used to move the school forward.
